Health Services - Teen Klinic All Klinic health services are closed on all statutory holidays, Easter Monday and March 8th, as well as Saturdays of all long weekends Mondays 4:00 - 8:00 pm There are no scheduled appointments at Teen Klinic. Everyone is seen on a walk-in basis. Service is limited to the number of clients that can be seen during the clinic hours. Teen Klinic provides primary health care services to youth ages 12-20 who are unable to receive these services elsewhere. The services are provided by counsellors, nurses, nurse practitioners and physicians. If you have never been to Klinic, you will be seen by a counsellor first, then, if appropriate, you will see a nurse, nurse practitioner, or physician. What information do I need to give Klinic?Teen Klinic is a time set aside to provide services specifically to youth. No one will judge you because of your age, gender, appearance, or sexual orientation. It is important to use your legal name, as it appears on your health card, when you come to Klinic. No nick names or slang please. It is important to provide us with a phone number that Klinic staff may call you at. Klinic staff will only contact you if your tests need to be repeated, if you need medication, if you have an infection, or if the call is medically necessary. Who will know that I came to Klinic?Services at Klinic are confidential. This means that your visits are just between you and your health care providers at Klinic. You do not need the consent of your parent or guardian. If you wish, you may bring a friend, parent, or guardian with you to Klinic.
Every person receiving services at Klinic has a health record. Whenever you see a Klinic service-provider, all relevant information regarding your care is documented to ensure quality services. Only Klinic staff directly involved in your care will access your chart records. Your Klinic chart records can be transferred to another health care provider at your request. Will I have to pay?There is no cost for you to see a service provider at Klinic. Birth control, including condoms, is offered through Klinic’s low-cost program. If you are unable to pay the cost for birth control, please talk to Klinic staff. |
