Workshops

We have a number of experienced educators who can present on a wide variety of health and counselling issues. Workshops can be provided at your organization, or at Klinic. Please contact us for information.

Suicide Prevention Training Series:

Level 1: Introduction to Suicide Prevention

This half-day, or full-day training introduces the participant to the issue of suicide, explaining the context of suicide in our society, and the meaning of suicide in people’s lives. Suicide recognition, assessment, intervention and prevention methods are the focus.  A non-judgmental approach based in care, compassion, and concern with the suicidal individual is presented in order to provide for a solid foundation of accurate suicide assessment and client safety.

Crisis Counselling Intervention

 This half-day workshop aims to educate participants on the basics of crisis theory and to teach communication skills necessary for crisis intervention. Activities in the workshop include defining crisis, reactions to being in crisis, crisis development, and a crisis intervention counselling model will be covered

Self Harm: Essential Information for Practitioners

This half-day workshop presents information for practitioners working with clients who engage in self-harming behaviors, or who are at risk. Fundamental information on self-harm is presented including definitions, prevalence, and forms. The workshop examines psychological characteristics of clients who self-harm, reasons for the behavior and then moves on to discuss assessment and treatment.
